This new Original series will be of realistic acrylic paintings of Australian Animals and bird portraits.

• Created using the highest quality products, acrylic paint, satin varnished on cotton weave canvas or archival birch timber panels.
• Framed with a sustainably sourced Tasmanian oak timber frame. 

Each piece will be delivered to you ready to hang, wire and brass D-hooks attached the back of the painting.

The painting is signed on the front and the reverse of the painting.

On the back of the painting will also include the date and title.

With this new series, my aim is to bring to you the opportunity of owning a Sarah Welsford Original painting at an affordable price point.

The added quality frame sets off the painting in a natural timber, suiting most decors.

This NEW painting is of a Male Gang-gang Cockatoo.

They are part of The Australian Parrot family with which there are several species.

Gang-gangs are one of the most popular and elusive Australian birds. With their gentle natures and 'creaky door' sounds when feasting upon some of their favourite foods, like berries, seeds and nuts they are truly are a pleasure to find in the wild.

They are Canberra's faunal emblem, but still very rare to sight here in the ACT. Unfortunately they are listed as endangered but all efforts are being put in to change this, with nesting boxes being installed in their native habitats and trees such as wattles being planted as  a favourite food source for them is the seed pods of wattle trees.

This is a beautiful Male, has vibrant attractive red head feathers with a beautiful wispy grey crest/head feathers of the same colour.

I loved painting this beautiful Male with his vibrant colouring and his slate grey feathers on the rest of his body. He has a little of his recent meal stained on his beak, green of the seed pods and the dark brown berries just consumed.

They are such beautiful birds.
