This new Original series will be of realistic acrylic paintings of Australian Animals and bird portraits.

• Created using the highest quality products, acrylic paint, satin varnished on cotton weave canvas or archival birch timber panels.
• Framed with a sustainably sourced Tasmanian oak timber frame. 

Each piece will be delivered to you ready to hang, wire and brass D-hooks attached the back of the painting.

The painting is signed on the front and the reverse of the painting.

On the back of the painting will also include the date and title.

With this new series, my aim is to bring to you the opportunity of owning a Sarah Welsford Original painting at an affordable price point.

The added quality frame sets off the painting in a natural timber, suiting most decors.

This NEW painting is of a Female Gang-gang Cockatoo.

They are part of The Australian Parrot family with which there are several species.

Gang-gangs are one of the most popular and elusive Australian birds. With their gentle natures and 'creaky door' sounds when feasting upon some of their favourite foods, like berries, seeds and nuts they are truly are a pleasure to find in the wild.

They are Canberra's faunal emblem, but still very rare to sight here in the ACT. Unfortunately they are listed as endangered but all efforts are being put in to change this, with nesting boxes being installed in their native habitats and trees such as wattles being planted as  a favourite food source for them is the seed pods of wattle trees.

This is a beautiful female, they have more subtle colours than the male, (with their bright crimson red head feathers) females have with pinkish red and pale yellow feathers on their chest. Although they primarily have slate grey feathers and a wispy grey crest/head feathers.

I loved painting this beautiful female with her subtle colouings and her beak stained by her diet of berries just consumed. They are such beautiful birds.
