This new piece is a painting of an Australian Purple-crowned fairy wren (m), one of the many species of fairy wren here in Australia.
This bird was an absolute pleasure to paint.
I do love discovering new beautiful and unusual Aussie birds and learning about where to discover them, their habitat and their lifecycle.
This stunning Male Purple-crowned fairy wren is just one of those. Not a very common bird but the largest of all the wren species. It is endemic to the very top of Western Australia and Northern Territory.
They are found mostly near rivers and live amongst the tall reeds and grasses.
The stunning purple crown on this male birds is so eye catching, highlighting natures marvelous creations.
I hope you enjoy my painting of this stunning bird.
