NEW!
This piece is part of my NEW series 'Australian animals habitat near and far'
This is an amazing duck-billed platypus.
Scientists are still baffled by their very existence.
They are one of only five Monotremes in existence.
There are four species of echidna and this guy the Duck-billed platypus.
Monotremes are egg laying mammals.
Male platypuses have a spur (which I have painted) located on the back of their hind legs they use to inject a toxin (venom) into a predator when threatened. It's not harmful to humans but can be very painful.
Hope you like him!
