This new series is a combination of two of my ongoing series, ‘Australian Birds up-close’ and ‘Still life botanicals’
I created this new piece because I wanted to combine my love for birds and flowers in a painting.
This painting consists of native banksia’s, flannel flowers, eucalyptus leaves and a cheeky Carnaby's Black Cockatoo peaking over the foliage. I have painted these beautiful subjects on a blended background of charcoal and sage green.
Carnaby's Black Cockatoos are endangered, mostly due to habitat loss, so I feel it's my job as an Artist to show case these beautiful birds in my artwork.
