This new series is a combination of two of my ongoing series,
‘Australian Birds up-close’ and ‘Still life botanicals’
I created this new piece because I wanted to combine my love for birds and flowers in a painting.
I have painted a beautiful male and female Red tail black cockatoo on a white background. The cockies are perched on a branch. The female is stretching her wings about to take flight, after having a snack of casuarina nuts.
I have painted below the cockatoos a combination of Native Australian flowers and proteas. I have painted wax flowers both pink and white, banksias, rice, blue corn flowers, flannel flowers, silver dollar eucalyptus leaves and a stunning warratah flower and foilage.
This is an Original painting by Sarah Welsford designed and conceptualised by the Artist.
